AquaZone aims to encourage participation in physical activity and promote social connection and inclusion for the community.

History of Aquazone

The corner of Jamieson Street and Queens Road has been the home of non-ocean swimming in Warrnambool for five decades.

The original outdoor swimming pool complex was built in the 1960s and included 50m Olympic, toddler and dive pools.

In 2002, a new facility – AquaZone – was developed on the site with the addition of indoor 25m, program and leisure pools; as well as fitness facilities, and new customer and staff amenities.

The South West community was very active in advocating and fundraising for the new facility.

Today, AquaZone is the major indoor community aquatic and leisure facility in South West Victoria. It provides equitable and affordable access to a wide range of aquatic and fitness activities.

It is currently Warrnambool’s only aquatic leisure and recreation centre which provides indoor and outdoor heated pools for fitness and play, a large gymnasium, spin bike studio and fitness programs.
